Variations:

Sanding the top (uncolored) side, gives a frosted , "beach glass" look. Leaving the sheet unsanded gives a smooth, glassy look. A sanded or unsanded surface with a spray sealer applied after a piece is finished looks somewhere in between.

The Intaglio technique involves super heating preshrunk PolyShrink, and then "molding" the softened plastic with a stamp or other object. No embossing powder is used. The word intaglio means, "a design produced in relief", and with a little practice you can make beautiful elements for jewelry, card making, collage, and many other projects.

Craf-T rub-ons with Pearl Ex /
Highlighting instructions below

Make Clear Intaglio as follows:

· Sand one side of a sheet of Clear PolyShrink™ side in a crosshatch pattern.
· Use the "PolyShrink Ruler" section of The PolyShrink General Instructions, to decide how big your PolyShrink piece should be cut to accomodate the stamp or textured object you wish to use. Cut a piece to the needed size.
· Apply a small amount of embossing ink such as Colorbox™ directly off the pad or from a re-inker bottle, and smooth into the sanded surface with a small piece of paper towel. Embossing ink is designed to stay wet . The shrinking process will draw the pigment into the sanded surface, eliminating any need for the ink to be dry before shrinking. For other coloring media ideas, please see the "Art Supply Suggestions" section of the PolyShrink instructions.
· The Intaglio impression will be made on the opposite, uninked side of the piece. Follow the Intaglio directions for shrinking. and molding your stamp design into the PolyShrink.
· After the impression is made, blot any excess ink from the back of your finished piece and apply a coat of spray sealer like Krylon Matte.

Highlighting The Design:

·Treasure Gold/Rub 'n Buff: Apply small amounts using a soft cloth stretched in a single thickness around your finger.

· Heat setting inks: Apply a small amount off the pad or pat on with your fingers. Lightly heat using a heat gun to set the ink.

· Craf-T Rub ons: Pat these on, rather than rubbing. Then add small amounts of Pearl Ex for wonderful shimmering color.
Seal with a matt or gloss sealer.
